interdisciplinary design

As Head of Design for Magic Leap solutions, my work explores the frontier of spatial design and embodied experience. We seek to amplify human ability with wearable technology.

At Magic Leap, I lead a design team whose mandate is to create augmented reality applications that demonstrate the usefulness and utility of ML2, our second generation mixed reality headset.

Prior to my present role, I served as Chief Creative Officer of Second Story — a pioneering group in blending physical and digital environments. I also previously held design leadership roles at Razorfish (Physical x Digital practice lead), SapientNitro (Creative Director for Mobile & Emerging Experiences), and IQ Agency (Executive Creative Director).

A veteran creative leader with over two decades in the design field, I consider myself both an orchestrator and a doer. Endlessly fascinated by the art of collaboration, my interdisciplinary practice brings together radically different ideas and people. I have led teams in international work across Europe, Australia, the U.S. and Canada.

My work has been recognized for design excellence by the likes of One Show, The Webby Awards, HOW International Design, SEGD Global Design Awards, IxDA, and The American Alliance of Museums. I was named top 20 people to watch in 2020 by Graphic Design USA. My work has also been featured by premier publications including Fast Company, Wired, Forbes, and Communication Arts. I enjoy speaking about experience design at forums like Experiential Marketing Summit, Museum Next, SEGD, and AIGA.

With one foot in the commercial design world, the other is firmly rooted in regenerative design and cultural change —reimagining our relationship to the Earth and to each other.

In service to this calling I have served in a variety of roles:

Co-founder and executive producer of the Outside In podcast that tells the story of transformative design for positive change.
Member of the Earth Regenerators community, who are working to regenerate a forest and bring a river back to life in Barichara, Columbia. I served on the advisory council of the project incubator.
Certified Prosocial facilitator. Prosocial is the first change method that uses contextual behavioral science to enhance cooperation and inspire positive change for the well-being of others.
Fellow at the RSA (Royal Society of Arts), a community committed to positively impacting society — inspiring better ways of thinking, acting and delivering change.
Advisory board member of Our Hidden Worlds, an immersive entertainment attraction for ocean conservation.
Graduate of the Regenerative Practitioner Series via the Regenesis Institute — who are transforming the way humans inhabit the earth.
